BIO
Synthpop for hopeless romantics…
The Lovepools are a Los Angeles indie rock and synth pop trio created by Anthony Shea (Vocals, Synths, Guitars, Production) assisted by Devin McGee on drums and Aria Cruz on bass. Each production is recorded and produced entirely within Anthony's bedroom in Logic Pro X.
Following the release of two EPs, The Lovepools first single, "See You In The Funny Papers," was featured on Showtime's "Shameless" Season 9 Premiere. The track drew comparisons to The Black Keys and Arctic Monkeys for its fuzz guitars and clever lyrics.
The next break for the group came in May 2020, when the band inked a record deal with Sword Music (distribution by Sony Music Italy). This paved the way for a series of singles, most notably "White Lies & Palm Trees" a synthpop anthem inspired by groups like Foster The People and Empire of the Sun. The ethereal track graced the airwaves of major Italian radio stations and college radio across the US. A live action/animation music video was promptly released and seen on Italian TV including MTV Italy.
In October of 2020, the Lovepools continued their momentum with their own remix "White Lies & Palm Trees (Pool House Remix)" which was quickly selected for editorial Spotify playlist: "Voglia Di Sol", appearing there for well over a year.
After a two year hiatus, the group began performing live again and on September 15th, 2023, Something = Nothing marked their next synthpop release. The song garnered positive critical acclaim and was praised for its production and lyrics.
“One Note Wonder” marks the trio’s new indie rock single set to be released this year on December 15th with a release party at Good Times at Davey Wayne’s on Thursday, December 14th at 10:00pm.
